I want to start by saying I am not giving this store one star because I actually love this location and have been coming here consistently since I moved to Seattle. This review is specifically about an encounter I had today with a budtender named Key. I typically order the same product every time I come in, so I asked for what I usually get. When she started asking questions about grams, I explained that I was not sure and that I normally just recognize the product by sight. I showed her what it was, and she went back to the wall but grabbed something completely different. I clarified that I was looking for the jar, not the boxed version. She responded that she was just confirming the brand, which I already knew was correct. She then told me they did not have any jars available. After that, we kind of just stood there in silence until she finally said she could check the back. I agreed and thanked her. When she returned, she said there were none available. Again, there was no guidance or next step offered, so I asked if there was something comparable she could recommend. Her response was that she did not know what I wanted, which honestly, neither did I, and that is why I was asking for help. She eventually brought out a few options, and I selected a couple. When she began ringing me up, I asked to enter my phone number. She visibly sighed, removed something from the screen, and only then allowed me to enter it. My total was $35, and I gave her $40. She held onto the $5, clearly expecting a tip. I usually tip budtenders because I respect the service industry, but her attitude throughout the interaction was so rude that I chose not to. When I put the $5 back into my wallet, she made a comment that felt unnecessary and unprofessional. I do not know if she was having a bad day, but I have never experienced service like this at this location before. I know the store recently switched management and is now Kush 21, and I sincerely hope this interaction is not a reflection of the customer service going forward. I really enjoy shopping here, but not if this is what customers should expect. Not everyone knows every detail about every strain or product. Being annoyed or dismissive when customers ask for help only makes people not want to return. This experience made me feel like I was wasting her time and that assisting me was a burden, which was disappointing given how much I have enjoyed this store in the past.

included are pictures of a door that is never supposed to be left open. it literally says on the door to keep the door closed. this shows how careless they are about their job. the staff are extremely disrespectful. they do not care about customer service. mostly every single time that I come here, I walk in and rather than taking care of the customers that are standing in line, they are sitting around talking and laughing with each other. they will literally finish their conversation with their coworker, laughing and talking about personal matters That have nothing to do with what they are supposed to be doing in their job. This is an email that I sent to them In regards to a terrible experience that I had earlier today: I visited your Sodo location today and purchased two disposable vapes. I get home and open one of them and it does not work at all. I called the store to explain to them about my issue. The person who answered the phone was extremely disrespectful. i believe his name was Terell or Terez he is a light skinned black man with long dreads. I would appreciate a phone call from the stores Top manager. (not just a manager on duty for the day) I would like to speak to one of the higher ups about how rude and disrespectful your staff was to me on the phone. I just wanted to simply explain my issue about the defective product and how inconvenient it is to have to drive all the way back to the store. I am a widow with two kids. my husband was murdered. i don’t have much money but i chose to spend it at your establishment to buy me a disposable. i chose to drive 30 minutes to your store to do business with your company. and i don’t even get two words in before this staff member interrupted me and told me he was busy and did not have time to listen to my problems. I have been a loyal customer for years I don’t go to any other dispensaries, except for this one. I cannot believe someone would be so rude to treat a customer that way. Terrell or Terez whatever his name is should never be allowed to answer the phone. Every single time I come in there I see your staff members laughing talking to each other, ignoring the people who are standing in line so that they can sit there and talk to each other! They are so unprofessional, disrespectful and inconsiderate of people’s time. this is not a proper way to do business. i am extremely hurt and disappointed. EDITED TO ADD THAT THE ONLT BUDTENDERS THAT HAVE BEEN NICE TO ME ARE JEFF AND LEILANI AND ONE OTHER GIRL I FORGOT HER NAME BUT SHE WAS SUPER NICE. i wish so badly i could remember her name.

Went in last week after a long work day. The attendant and I put together my order and after ringing me up, she brazenly tried to steal part of my order from me by hiding it under her palm, against the countertop when handing me my order. I immediately called her on it and she handed me the part of my order she tried to hide, grinning at me as if to say something without saying it. I was half a second from taking back my tip, but I left it in case tips are shared amongst the staff from that day. Perhaps I should've gone to the manager instead. Perhaps I still will. I've never had this sort of experience at Zips before. Normally it's a very pleasant and warm part of my day. Perhaps she's young and ignorant, or believed me a fool. Who knows. Regardless of her reasoning, it's utterly unacceptable to try and palm part of a customers order. You work here for christ's sake, just use your employee discount and get your own. It's not like you weren't already stoned out of your mind during your shift anyways, what's the point in trying to steal a 2 pack of joints from me???
